The proposed thrust area for both the CAS and ASIHSS is Mind, Cognition and Value. Though the emphasis in the CAS is mainly on high level intensive research, the emphasis in ASIHSS is on the introduction of a research orientation even at the post graduate level. To involve the PG students in the ongoing research programmes in the chosen thrust area of the Department, it has been proposed that text and reference books with up-to-date information be prepared along with other progressive teaching aids like CD ROMs, E-books and Web Lessons.
