The International Conference On Logic, Navya-Nyaya & Applications (ICLNNA), as a sequel of the First Indian Conference on Logic and Applications held in IIT Bombay, January 2005 aims at bringing together the modern logic and traditional Indian systems of logic (especially, the ancient system Navya-Nyaya). ICLNNA is organized in the honour of Bimal Krishna Matilal (1935-1991), an eminent scholar of logic. The Nyaya techniques of drawing conclusions from given premises and the Nyaya way of analyzing language were borrowed by the other systems of Indian philosophy.
The programme committee of ICLNNA invites papers in all areas of modern logic with applications and Indian logic, including:

  • Navya-Nyaya and other Indian systems of logic and their relevance to modern times
  • Systems of formal logic
  • Philosophical logic
  • Interface of modern and ancient Indian systems of logic

The extended deadline for submission of papers is September 15, 2006.
The conference will be held at Jadavpur University in Kolkata.
