SOUMITRA BASU, Ph.D.
 

Dr. Basu received the degree of Ph.D. in Philosophy from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He joined the Department of Philosophy, Jadavpur University, in 1990.

Dr. Basu's research interests lie in the areas of the Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Psychology, Philosophy of Education, Modern Indian Philosophy and Philosophical Counselling. He also works in the fields of Applied Ethics, Psychology and Psychotherapy.

Dr. Basu is involved in psychological counselling as well as imparting training in counselling. He has conducted several workshops to impart training in better parenting as well as on the personality development of adolescents. Dr. Basu has also conducted stress reduction workshops for students and teachers and has actively participated in anti-superstition drives.
