GANGADHAR KAR, Ph.D.
 

Dr. Kar received the degree of Ph.D.  from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He joined Jadavpur University as Reader in Philosophy in 2003, before which he was teaching at the Department of Sanskrit in Rabindra Bharati University.

Dr. Kar holds several degrees and qualifications in Indian Philosophy and Grammar. Notably, he is Nyycarya, Tarkatirtha, Vykarantirtha, Nyyavidy Sstri and Vykaranvidycrya, apart from holding an M.A. in Sanskrit.

Dr. Kar's research interests lie in the areas of Navya as well as Pracina Nyaya, Vaisesika and Grammar. Outside his research areas, he is deeply interested in astronomy.

Outside Philosophy, Dr. Kar takes special interest in poem-writing.
